The main building was the original barn for the Hiwan Homestead, a 30 thousand acres cattle ranch. The barn was built to house the ranch’s nationally known stud bull, H.W. R Helmsman worth 67 thousand dollars in 1942. The Design Center’s second building is the original bunkhouse for the ranch, built in 1927.

The Evergreen Design Center has housed nine different businesses in these two unique buildings since 2005. These different businesses compliment and work together to offer decorating and design services for both your home and garden. All the businesses of the EDC are small and locally owned.
As you look through the furniture, artwork, rugs, flooring, plants, garden accessories, framing, and cabinetry you can often speak with the owners. We offer friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable advice on our areas of expertise. We are open to the public, seven days a week.
