Meadow Creek Design Studio

Barb moved to Boulder in 1980 and instantly fell in love with Colorado! She began working with Hewlett Packard in 1981 and enjoyed living in Fort Collins for the next ten years. In 1991 Barb had a perfect opportunity to return to school when HP started downsizing. She had recently remodeled her home and discovered she had a passion for design. Colorado State University was one of the premier Interior Design schools that is FIDER (Foundation for Interior Design Research) accredited and was right in her own backyard. Barb studied design and architecture in London between her junior and senior year at CSU and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design.

After graduating, Barb moved to Denver and worked at The Great Indoors. It was a wonderful place to learn and grow as it was common to work on 20+ projects at once. After moving to Conifer in 2009, the drive became a bit much and she was fortunate to find a design position at The Kitchen and Bath Center in Evergreen. Barb stayed with them until they closed in 2013 when she moved on to another local firm until finally deciding it was time to open her own Design Studio with Catherine Berndl, an excellent business woman and interior designer. Meadow Creek Design Studio is the manifestation of 20+ years design experience and education. It’s a blessing to do what you love every day. When Barb isn’t working she’s riding her horse, reading, boating or just enjoying Colorado’s beautiful weather!

Catherine has 25-plus years business and consulting experience at law firms, a multinational telecommunications company and several small businesses where she gained valuable I/T, management, financial, sales, marketing and design skills. In additional to broad business experience, Catherine’s entrepreneurial spirit has led to owning two previous businesses and her business partnership with Barb Woycik resulting in the creation of Meadow Creek Design Studio. Catherine began doing both interior and landscape design as a hobby and stress-buster during her challenging and demanding career for herself, family and friends.

While taking a professional hiatus from 1998-2008 to raise a family, Catherine continued to design for family and friends and began an informal education in all aspects of design. In 2008, Catherine began easing back into the business world on a part-time basis with a small business providing conference services all over the United States and continues to help them out on an ad hoc basis.

In 2013, Catherine began working with a local interior designer and gained valuable professional hands-on experience and confirmed her love and passion for design. In 2015, Catherine moved on to a local kitchen & bath design center and continued to hone her design knowledge/skills and learn multiple aspects of construction. The added construction knowledge is invaluable in providing outstanding service to clients. She is grateful for both professional design opportunities and their role in contributing to her skill and knowledge base.

When she can tear herself away from work, Catherine loves to cook, garden, read, hike, camp and spend time with loved ones.
